During the construction we are eager to discuss things with those who live near the building sites. To that end, we have organised a number of neighbourhood meetings and office hours for residents.  
  
Operations Advisory Committees (BCUs)
The Noord/Zuidlijn Information Point has organised so-called Operations Advisory Committees or BCUs (Begeleidingscommissies Uitvoering) for residents and businesses in close proximity to the construction work. You can go there for information about the building activities of the Noord/Zuidlijn that are planned for the coming month(s). You can also turn to the BCU with your questions, suggestions and complaints about the building activities in your neighbourhood. The BCU is open to everyone.

A representative of the contractor will always be present at the BCU meetings, as will the location manager from the municipal district ‘Centrum’ (which comprises Amsterdam’s old city centre), the Noord/Zuidlijn Advisory Group’s officer in charge of the ongoing supervision of the project and the project attendant from the Noord/Zuidlijn Information Point.

Two-way communication
One of the principles of the BCU is that the flow of information should go in two directions. Those who attend the meetings can get information but also ask questions and point out any difficulties they see.

Solutions to such difficulties can then be found collectively. Also on an individual level, things like deliveries or a move to a new house can be coordinated within the BCU with the planned building activities on the street level.

Participation in the BCU does not entail any obligation whatsoever: no membership, dues or other commitments are required.

BCU office hours and meetings

Office hours (walk-in) Amsterdam-Noord
Time: 2 pm and 4 pm
Location: The Noord/Zuidlijn site office, next to the custodian’s residence at the Elzenhagen sport complex (G.J. Scheurleerweg 2-4). This is located across from the entrance of ATOS.
Frequency: every third Tuesday of the month

BCU Rokin
Time: 5 pm – 6 pm
Location: The Rijnstroom Building, Rokin
Frequency: once every four weeks
Dates 2008: Every third Tuesday of the month.

BCU Vijzelgracht
Time: 5 pm – 6 pm
Location: The site hut across from Lijnbaansgracht 310
Frequency: once every four weeks
Dates in 2008: 14 January, 11 February, 10 March, 7 April, 5 May, 2 June,30 June, 28 July, 25 August, 22 September, 20 October, 26 November, 15 December.

BCU Europaplein
Time: 7 pm – 8 pm
Location: The site hut on the RAI building site
Frequency: once every four weeks
Dates in 2008: 4 February, 17 March, 28 April, 2 June, 14 July, 25 August, 6 October, 17 November.
